Development of Soft-Skill Work Readiness Module, 2019

In 2019, Transformers was commissioned by ChildFund to develop a Soft-Skill Work Readiness Module aimed at preparing young individuals for the workforce. The project leveraged our team's extensive expertise in educational design and youth empowerment to create a curriculum that is both comprehensive and practically oriented. This module equips participants with essential soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork, making them more employable and ready to navigate the complexities of the modern workplace. The project was a milestone in our ongoing commitment to fostering youth economic empowerment and adds a valuable component to our portfolio of impactful, sustainable initiatives.
Sustainable Livelihood Development for Indigenous People in Indonesia, 2020-2021

Between 2020 and 2021, Transformers partnered with Samdhana Institute to develop a Sustainable Livelihood program specifically tailored for indigenous communities in Indonesia. Utilizing a community-driven approach, our team worked closely with local stakeholders to identify opportunities and challenges unique to these communities. The project focused on building economic resilience through sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and local enterprise development. Our collaboration with Samdhana Institute allowed us to create a comprehensive framework that not only improved immediate livelihoods but also empowered these communities to sustainably manage their resources for future generations. This project serves as a testament to our commitment to social governance and sustainable development.
Training and Technical Assistance: Business Plan Preparation for Indigenous People, 2022

In collaboration with Samdhana Institute, Transformers provides specialized training and technical assistance to indigenous communities in preparing viable business plans. Our multidisciplinary team works closely with community leaders and local stakeholders to identify economically sustainable activities that are both culturally appropriate and ecologically responsible. Through a comprehensive series of workshops and hands-on training sessions, we empower these communities with the essential skills and knowledge to develop, launch, and manage their own sustainable businesses. This initiative aims not only to stimulate local economies but also to enable indigenous people to secure their economic futures while preserving their cultural heritage and natural ecosystems.
Set Up Management system of Cooperatives and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES), 2023

In a groundbreaking initiative slated for 2023, Transformers is set to collaborate with PT. Ganda Alam Makmur to enhance the governance and operational efficiency of Cooperatives and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES) in targeted areas. This project aims to fortify these community-based organizations through skill-building workshops, technical assistance, and strategic planning. With an acute focus on best practices and international standards, the partnership will work to equip local enterprises with the tools they need to achieve sustainability and scalability. This is in line with Transformers' commitment to fostering community resilience and economic empowerment at the grassroots level.
Adaro CSR Evaluation in 22 DAV, 2023
Status: Successfully Completed
"Between July and September of 2023, Transformers undertook a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assessment of the Adaro Metcoal Companies in the Murung Raya District. This evaluation was meticulously framed within the OECD guidelines. Additionally, a detailed Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis was conducted, focusing on the implementation period from 2018 to 2023 across the 22 Direct Affected Villages."
Adaro Social Mapping, 2023

"in the four quarter of 2023, Transformers is facilitating a comprehensive social mapping activity for affected villages within the regions of Kutai Barat and Mahakam Hulu, located in the East Kalimantan Province. This endeavor encompasses 23 villages and is structured around an intricate framework of social mapping. Further refining this initiative, elements of Indonesia's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Village SDGs are integrated, aligning with best practices in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)."
Indigenous People Sustainable Livelihood Blueprint 2024 - 2028

"With support from the Samdaha Institute, Transformers Plus Indonesia has conducted a series of activities with the indigenous communities of Masakoda, Yen, Yec, and Ogoney from 2023 to Q1 2024 to formulate a comprehensive Livelihood Blueprint. The drafting process adhered to the principles of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC), ensuring a robust community perspective and context tailored to their specific needs. This blueprint emphasizes the integration of traditional institutions, Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) practices, and land rights. It highlights sustainable and innovative approaches, reflecting an international standard of process and outcomes. The project underscores the importance of preserving indigenous knowledge and governance while fostering sustainable economic development."
Set Up Smart Aggregator, 2024 - Phase 1-2

"Transformers Plus Indonesia and PT.Ganda Alam Makmur are collaborating to enhance the 'Koperasi Pemasaran Bersama in Kaubun, East Kutai, as a smart aggregator. This initiative aims to elevate the cooperative's capacity and capability to connect selected BUMDES and SMEs' products and services with broader markets. Emphasizing innovation, this project integrates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, ensuring sustainable practices and community empowerment while driving economic growth. The smart aggregator model will streamline supply chains, enhance market access, and promote environmentally responsible and socially inclusive business practices."
Market Research and Workshop on Formulating the Operational Plan for the Sustainable Livelihood Development Blueprint for Indigenous Communities)

Transformers Plus Indonesia, in collaboration with the Samdhana Institute, facilitated a Market Research in Teluk Bintuni from August 19-29, 2024, to understand the market dynamics for derived products like nutmeg, pineapple, and red fruit through literature reviews, enumerator training, and data collection from various sources. The research findings were then disseminated in an operational planning workshop involving indigenous communities and stakeholders to refine the implementation plan. Consolidation with the Bintuni Regional Government resulted in support for improved infrastructure access to ensure the sustainability of the program.
Revitalizing Environment and Agro-tourism Program (REAP) 1

Transformers Plus Indonesia, supported by PT.GAM, is implementing a Sustainable Rice Field Agrotourism Development Program in Bumi Rapak Village. This program focuses on assisting the Bhuana Sari farmer group through a series of activities such as land landscaping, establishing a Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), providing comprehensive training and mentoring, and developing innovative tourist attractions. Additionally, the program aims to strengthen networks with various stakeholders to enhance tourism appeal and support local economic sustainability. Through this initiative, PT.GAM contributes to promoting sustainable tourism and empowering the local community.
Revitalizing Environment and Agro-tourism Program (REAP) 2

REAP 2 is a CSR initiative of PT GAM facilitated by Transformers Plus Indonesia, implemented at Bhuana Sari Agro-tourism, Desa Bumi Rapak, to strengthen community institutions, improve environmental resilience, and diversify local livelihoods. The program introduced climate adaptation measures such as rainwater harvesting, integrated waste management with circular economy principles, and professionally managed agro-tourism services that generated new income streams, supported by capacity building and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Through a structured governance and empowerment approach, REAP 2 delivered measurable environmental, economic, and social outcomes and established a sustainable foundation for community-managed agro-tourism
Cooperative and Village Enterprise (BUMDes) Development Program – Phase III

As part of PT GAM’s CSR commitment, Transformers Plus Indonesia facilitated Phase III of the Cooperative and BUMDes Development Program in Kaubun Subdistrict, East Kutai, focusing on the transition from foundational strengthening toward limited operational self-reliance. The program reinforced the UKM Center as a smart aggregator by consolidating local supply, improving product quality and market fit, strengthening distribution and digital record-keeping, and expanding access to retailers and institutional markets. Implemented through a market-embedded operational acceleration model with progressive role transfer, the initiative strengthened BUMDes production units, advanced cooperative governance through pre–Annual Member Meetings (Pra-RAT), and activated a functioning local supply chain, establishing a solid operational foundation for scaling in the next phase.
Social Mapping and BUMDes Development Roadmap – Ring-1 Balangan Coal Companies

In 2025, Transformers Plus Indonesia conducted a comprehensive social mapping, BUMDes assessment, and development roadmap formulation across Ring-1 villages surrounding the operational area of Balangan Coal Companies as part of the company’s CSR commitment. The initiative applied participatory and evidence-based methodologies—combining community exercises, key informant interviews, and field observations—to map socio-economic conditions, institutional capacity, local economic potential, and social dynamics, while assessing BUMDes health and readiness. The program produced village-level profiles, BUMDes performance diagnostics, clustering analysis, and phased development roadmaps that now serve as a strategic foundation for targeted community development, institutional strengthening, and sustainable local economic planning .
BINTANG Initiatives – Indigenous Livelihood Transformation Program

In 2025, Transformers Plus Indonesia implemented the BINTANG (Bersama Inisiasi Transformasi untuk Adat dan Generasi Mendatang) Program as a strategic continuation of the Sustainable Livelihood Blueprint initiated in 2024 under the PERMATA Program of Samdhana Institute in Teluk Bintuni, West Papua. Working with the indigenous communities of Masakoda, Yen, Yec, and Ogoney, the program operationalized the blueprint through structured capacity strengthening, value chain optimization, product diversification, and market-hub development via Agromos. By integrating participatory methods, data-driven planning, and phased operational handover, BINTANG strengthened indigenous economic institutions, expanded market-ready local products such as pineapple, nutmeg, and red fruit, and established a scalable foundation for inclusive, culturally rooted, and sustainable community livelihoods
New Bina Desa –

New Bina Desa – SIAP PANGAN is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of PT Saptaindra Sejati (SIS), designed and facilitated by Transformers Plus Indonesia to strengthen community-based food security and local economic resilience in ring-1 operational areas. Implemented across Maburai and Warukin Villages (Tabalong Regency) and Murung Ilung Village (Balangan Regency), the program integrates chili horticulture and layer poultry farming through a structured logframe approach that combines technical production, institutional strengthening, and market readiness. The intervention successfully established and legalized community business groups, operationalized production infrastructure, initiated early-stage production and local market sales, and embedded practical systems for governance, risk management, and monitoring–evaluation. SIAP PANGAN demonstrates a scalable model of community agribusiness development that moves beyond assistance toward measurable productivity, institutional maturity, and sustainable local value chains.
Integrated Cooperative and BUMDes Mentoring Program – Phase IV

In 2026, under the CSR initiative of PT GAM, Transformers Plus Indonesia is implementing Phase IV of the integrated cooperative and BUMDes mentoring program in Kaubun Subdistrict, East Kutai, as a continuation of earlier phases toward operational and financial self-reliance. This phase focuses on strengthening local cocoa supply chains, advancing cooperative governance and digital operations, and accelerating market expansion through a smart aggregator model, where the cooperative functions as a centralized hub for quality control, packaging, branding, and omni-channel sales, while BUMDes operate as standardized and efficient suppliers. Through an adaptive, data-driven implementation framework that integrates product development, digital record-keeping, canvassing, online sales activation, and structured monitoring–evaluation, Phase IV is currently reinforcing end-to-end value chains and preparing local economic institutions for sustained, independent operation
RISE UP Phase 2 – Rural Innovation and Sustainable Economic Upliftment Program (AlamTri Initiative)

In 2026, Transformers Plus Indonesia is implementing RISE UP Phase 2 in Murung Raya, Central Kalimantan, as part of AlamTri’s commitment to strengthening village-based economic institutions and sustainable local livelihoods. Building on the initial readiness established in the previous phase, this stage applies a disciplined sandboxing model to test, refine, and validate priority village commodities—ranging from coffee, patchouli oil, aquaculture, rice, to fermented food products—through small-scale, market-oriented pilots. The program integrates light but orderly governance, cluster-based synergies across villages, and data-driven decision-making to strengthen BUMDes operations, develop market-ready prototypes, and prepare viable pathways toward limited-scale operations and future scaling, positioning local institutions as credible drivers of inclusive and resilient rural economies
